Isuzu Showcases Mobile Beauty Salon Concept at GIIAS 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) has presented a mobile beauty salon concept vehicle based on the Isuzu Traga at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. This presentation by PT IAMI aims to expand the perception of commercial vehicles beyond being merely tools for transporting goods from one location to another.

Rian Erlangga, Business Strategy Division Head of PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, stated that commercial vehicles possess much broader potential than their conventional functions. “With the flexibility offered by the Isuzu Traga, this vehicle can be developed into a mobile business solution that supports entrepreneurs in reaching consumers more effectively,” Erlangga said in a written statement on Saturday.

Utilising vehicles as business spaces is considered increasingly relevant amidst the growth of the creative and service industries, which require high mobility. With this concept, business owners can bring services closer to customers without relying on permanent business locations.

Khikin Indahsari, Senior Group Head of Paragon Personal Care, noted that this project is a collaboration between Isuzu, Karoseri Delima Mandiri, and Putri, a hair care brand under ParagonCorp. According to her, current consumer needs extend beyond quality products to include the convenience of accessing consultation and treatment services directly in various locations.

The vehicle features a cargo area measuring 2.8 metres x 1.6 metres, which has been transformed into a complete salon space equipped with various hair care tools by Karoseri Delima Mandiri.

As a light commercial vehicle, the Isuzu Traga relies on a 2,499 cc diesel engine, code 4JA1-CR, paired with VGT Turbo Intercooler technology. The engine produces 80 PS at 3,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.5 kgm at 1,800–2,400 rpm, delivered through a five-speed manual transmission.

Isuzu is also utilising the momentum of GIIAS 2026 to introduce enhancements to the Traga, specifically the addition of a pre-fuel filter, meaning it now employs a double filtration fuel system. This technology is designed to help filter contaminants before the fuel enters the engine, thereby maintaining injection system performance and reducing maintenance costs. This enhancement is part of Isuzu’s readiness to face the implementation of B50 diesel fuel currently being prepared by the government.
