Isuzu sees 15% sales growth in 2002
JAKARTA: PT Pantja Motor, sole agent and assembler for Japan's largest light-truck company in Indonesia, Isuzu Motors Ltd., said on Monday that Isuzu car domestic sales were expected to grow by about 15 percent, to 36,000 units, this year.
"We predict that the Panther will account for 85 percent of Isuzu domestic sales this year, while the remaining 15 percent will be trucks," president director of PT Pantja Motor Yohannes Nangoi told reporters after the launching of its new after-sales service, termed Isuzu Red Carpet.
He said about 27,000 new Panther vans and 4,000 Isuzu trucks were sold last year.
Under the Isuzu Red Carpet scheme, the company offers one year's unlimited maintenance to all owners of new Panther vans, provided that they have paid a fee of Rp 1.4 million (US$134) per year. -- JP
