Isuzu Confirms Diesel Vehicles Ready for B50, Urges Consistent Fuel Quality
PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) has stated that its diesel vehicles are ready to use B50 biodiesel ahead of the mandate scheduled for 1 July 2026, while stressing the importance of consistent fuel quality. Vice President Director Anton Rusli said the company fully supports the government’s policy to strengthen national energy security. “As a form of support for government policy, Isuzu has conducted various internal trials regarding the use of B50 and the testing process is still ongoing,” Anton told Media Indonesia on Tuesday (30/6). Based on interim test results, Isuzu vehicles can operate well using the B50 biodiesel blend. However, the company identified several aspects requiring attention, such as the possible need to adjust the fuel filter replacement interval as part of regular maintenance. “We will continue to evaluate to ensure performance, durability, and reliability are maintained,” he said. Anton noted that each manufacturer has different technical specifications and test results, so readiness for B50 cannot be generalised for all diesel vehicles in Indonesia. Regarding warranty concerns if damage occurs allegedly due to B50 usage, Anton explained that handling would follow standard technical investigation procedures. He also emphasised the importance of consistent fuel quality that meets government specifications and guaranteed supply to ensure smooth business operations without disrupting productivity or increasing logistics costs.
