Istiqlal Mosque Provides Zakat Al-Fitr Payment Services Until Takbir Evening

JAKARTA — Staff at Istiqlal Mosque serve Muslims paying zakat al-fitr in Jakarta, Tuesday (17 March 2026).

The Baznas UPZ (Zakat Collection Unit) at Istiqlal Mosque has opened a zakat al-fitr payment service set at 3.5 litres of rice or equivalent to IDR 50,000 per person. The service operates daily throughout Ramadan until Takbir evening to facilitate the public in fulfilling their religious obligation. The zakat service at Istiqlal Mosque has become increasingly busy, particularly from ten days before Eid until Takbir evening approaches. Collected zakat al-fitr is subsequently distributed through Islamic institutions such as the Mosque Welfare Council (DKM), Islamic study circles, Islamic foundations, and others, to be channelled to those eligible to receive it (mustahik).
