Jakarta’s Istiqlal Mosque reported receiving 64 cows and 13 goats donated by worshippers through its kurban committee. This includes sacrificial animals from President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who regularly entrust their best offerings to Southeast Asia’s largest mosque.

The kurban committee confirmed all animals underwent strict health checks to ensure freedom from foot-and-mouth disease and compliance with Islamic law. Slaughter will proceed according to the management’s schedule, prioritising hygiene and efficient distribution.

Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar confirmed no on-site distribution to the public to prevent crowding, with meat allocated directly to social institutions, mosques in densely populated areas, and pre-registered foundations. The Eid al-Adha prayer is scheduled for 7.00 AM WIB.

The minister assured no environmental pollution from sacrificial waste, with slaughter completed in one day. He explained the decision to stop direct public distribution this year, citing the theme of environmental care for the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Adha. He also reaffirmed his stance against all violence, particularly sexual abuse in boarding schools, amid misinformation.
