Istiqlal Eid Prayer Imam: MBG and Other Government Programmes Deserve Appreciation

Jakarta - The imam for Eid al-Fitr prayers at Istiqlal Mosque, Noorhadi Hasan, stated in his sermon that several government programmes aimed at improving the quality of life for the community deserve appreciation.

The priority programmes implemented by the government include the White Red Cooperative and the Free Nutritious Meals.

However, the Rector of Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University emphasised that all these programmes will not succeed without community support.

“Good programmes require people who work earnestly and uphold moral values,” he added.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka also participated in the worship alongside his son, Jan Ethes Sinarendra.

Several high-ranking state officials were also present, including Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Marwan Dasopang, Chairman of the Regional Representative Council Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, and Coordinating Minister for Legal Affairs Imipas Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Also present were Chairman of the General Elections Supervisory Agency Rahmat Bagja, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudi, and Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni.
