Issues in Pematang Siantar, BNI Stresses No Connection and Will Follow Legal Process

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has affirmed that products belonging to a cooperative at the Pematang Siantar Branch Office, North Sumatra, have no affiliation with BNI. BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that the aforementioned cooperative is an independent entity and not connected as part of BNI. This clarification aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding to the public regarding circulating information, as it became one of the triggers for a protest action at the Pematang Siantar Branch Office, North Sumatra, on Friday, 24 April 2026. BNI also stated that this issue is currently in the process of resolution through the applicable legal mechanisms. BNI fully respects the ongoing legal process and supports handling by the authorities. “We are committed to resolving this case by adhering to the ongoing legal decisions,” Okki said. BNI further reaffirmed its commitment to continuing business operations by prioritising principles of prudence, good corporate governance, and transparency, while ensuring that services to customers remain optimal in accordance with applicable standards.
