Several news outlets have revealed shocking facts regarding the condition of Israeli military personnel amid the escalation of war. According to the reports, hundreds of soldiers experiencing severe psychological disorders, including PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), are being recalled to duty even while still undergoing rehabilitation treatment. Many among them have not yet been examined by the official medical committee, a process that can take years. Due to pressure and threats from commanders, most eventually give in and return to wearing their military uniforms despite being haunted by deep trauma. Some commanders have even threatened to charge them with desertion if they refuse the duty call. A similar approach is applied to reservists who have just left psychiatric wards, as reported by Haaretz and al Mayadeen. Since the outbreak of war with Iran, Haaretz has received more than 20 similar reports. Only after military intervention in certain cases were the assignment orders revoked. This situation reflects the extreme urgency of Israel’s military personnel shortage, to the extent that even mental health patients are not spared from the call to war. At the same time, the Ansar Allah Movement in Yemen (Houthi) has again launched missile and drone attacks against Israel for the second time in a day. The Houthi military spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, stated that the attack is part of the “Holy Jihad War” and targets military sites in the occupied southern Palestinian region. Saree emphasised that the Houthis will continue military operations in the coming days until Israel stops its aggression against Iran and Lebanon. Meanwhile, third-generation Palestinian refugee and visiting professor of political science at the University of Alberta, Ghada Ageel, has expressed deep solidarity with the people of Iran. In her opinion piece on Al Jazeera (28 March 2026), she assessed that the tragedy now befalling Iran reflects the long suffering experienced by the Palestinian people from the Nakba to the destruction of Gaza. Ageel stressed that the people of Iran do not want a replacement of oppression from one power to another. They reject foreign interventions that merely replace old forms of domination with new ones.
