Tel Aviv – Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard has stated that Turkey and Egypt could be Israel’s next military targets. He warned that Israel must prepare for a broader regional conflict following its confrontation with Iran.

‘We must be ready for the next war, which could be against Turkey and Egypt. A storm is coming,’ Pollard said during an appearance on Arutz Sheva’s podcast, as reported by Middle East Monitor on Friday, 29 May 2026.

Pollard assessed that if his prediction is correct, Israel would face significant challenges in a war against Turkey. ‘I am not sure we will find it as easy with Turkey as we did with Iran,’ he said.

He also cautioned Israel against allowing a Turkish-backed transitional government in Syria to regain control of the southern regions occupied by Israeli forces, warning this would position Turkish troops along Israel’s border.

Pollard, a former US Navy intelligence analyst, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1987 after being convicted of passing classified US information to Israel. The case was deemed a spy scandal that damaged Tel Aviv-Washington relations. After serving 30 years, Pollard was released on parole in 2015.
