REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WEST BANK – Israeli settlers have escalated their attacks in the occupied West Bank during Ramadan, burning homes and vehicles belonging to Palestinians in the village of Susya in Masafar Yatta, south of Hebron.

The incident, which took place on Tuesday (24/2/2026), resulted in casualties. This coincided with a large-scale attack targeting shepherds in southern West Bank and clashes with young people resisting the settlers’ incursions in Nablus.

As reported by Aljazeera on Wednesday (25/2/2026), the human rights organisation Al-Bider reported in a statement that settlers attacked the village of Syusya.

They damaged five homes and several vehicles belonging to Palestinians, causing severe material damage and spreading fear among residents, especially children and women.

The Palestinian news agency (Wafa) and local sources said that the settlers deliberately threw tear gas bombs into several homes during the attack, causing some people to suffer from breathing difficulties.

Palestinian social media platforms shared videos taken from surveillance cameras showing the settlers raiding the village and burning residents’ property.

Meanwhile, the Israeli broadcasting corporation broadcast the same footage showing masked people burning Palestinian homes and cars in the village.

“We were suffocated by the gas, and no one came to our aid,” the caption read, referring to an attack by dozens of settlers on “Khirbet Susya” south of Hebron, which resulted in the burning of vehicles and homes belonging to residents and the destruction of their property under the cover of darkness.

Threatening shepherds and blocking roads

The attacks were not limited to Susya, but also extended to other areas in the Al-Khalil province. The settlers chased shepherds from the Al-Na’amain family in Khirbat Aqwa’is, Masafar Yatta, according to the Palestinian Information Centre.
