Israeli Security Agency Warns Senior Ministers Are Being Targeted by IRGC

BEIRUT — Israeli security agencies have warned a number of senior officials, including cabinet ministers, of intelligence indicating Iranian efforts to target senior Israeli figures, as reported by various Israeli media outlets cited by Al Mayadeen on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

The assessment suggests Iran has intensified its operations in recent days. Iran is believed to be attempting to target current and former senior Israeli officials in order to achieve strategic and psychological gains, according to the reports.

The Israeli news channel Channel 12 revealed that targeting Israeli officials “is a constant objective for Iran.” The outlet noted that the security assessment indicates “a marked increase in the scale of this effort and the number of attempts in recent weeks.”

Shin Bet tightens security

In response to the assessment, Israel’s domestic security agency, the Shin Bet, has tightened the security measures applied to a number of senior officials, according to a report by Sputnik, citing coverage by Israel’s Channel 12.

The channel reported that, on the recommendation of the security agencies, “the departure time of the Israeli presidential aircraft (Netanyahu’s plane) en route to the United States was kept secret, and it was decided to change its departure point to Nevatim airbase, as part of preventive security measures.”

The US military launched large-scale aggression against Iran on a daily basis from 8 July to 23 July, according to a statement by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM). In response, Iran’s armed forces launched counter-attacks against US bases in a number of countries in the region.
