Waves of Israeli attacks on Iranian territory continue to escalate. Israeli military missiles reportedly struck a girls’ primary school in the city of Minab, Hormozgan province, in southern Iran.

“The death toll from Minab girls’ primary school has reached 40 people,” according to a statement from Iranian state television, cited by AFP on Saturday (28 February 2026).

According to Anadolu Agency, the number of wounded from the attack reached 45 people. The school was struck by Israeli forces in the early morning hours of local time.

The death toll is estimated to continue rising. Rescue personnel are still conducting evacuation operations at the site.

The United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iranian territory on Saturday morning Iranian time. The strikes were claimed to be aimed at eliminating threats posed by Iran’s regime.

Separate video statements were released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, which also signalled support for efforts at regime change in Tehran.

Iran has described the strikes as a violation of sovereignty. The military has pledged to retaliate and launch counter-strikes.
