Israeli Minister Taunts Detained Global Sumud Flotilla Activists

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has come under sharp scrutiny after a video showing him taunting Global Sumud Flotilla activists who were detained by Israeli authorities at Ashdod Port circulated on social media. In footage released by his office, Ben-Gvir is seen approaching the activists and participants in an international humanitarian mission who are being held by security forces at Ashdod Port. In one clip, a woman is heard shouting ‘Free Palestine’ before being pushed to the floor by security personnel; a security voice is heard telling the woman to remain quiet. Ben-Gvir is then heard making provocative remarks: ‘Nice work. Welcome to Israel. We own this place.’
