Israeli Fighter Jets Attack Iran, IRGC Ballistic Missiles Strike Tel Aviv in Return

The Israeli military command stated that their fighter jets launched a series of attacks against western and central Iranian territory on Monday (8/6/2026) morning local time. A few hours after the incident, danger sirens sounded across the occupied Palestinian territories following retaliatory missile strikes.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that their sovereign territory had been targeted by Israeli aggression. The IRGC stated that the Israeli regime utilised air-launched ballistic missiles from outside Iranian airspace.

A series of explosions was reported in several major Iranian cities, including Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Karaj. According to reports from Israel’s Channel 12, Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran was also targeted by bombs during the wave of attacks.

Separately, Iranian media reported that the Israeli strikes also hit the Karoun Mahshahr Petrochemical Company in Khuzestan Province, causing damage to facilities at the site. Meanwhile, an Al Mayadeen correspondent in Baghdad reported hearing explosions of unknown origin in the Iraqi capital.

Following the conclusion of the Israeli attack wave, Israeli media reported that alert levels had been increased in Tel Aviv and southern regions to anticipate further retaliatory strikes. This series of events follows Iran’s response to Israeli aggression in Lebanon and the seizure of ships near the Strait of Hormuz.

Tel Aviv was struck by missiles once again. At 05:56 local time, danger sirens sounded in central Israeli-occupied territories, which local military command identified as missile attacks launched from Yemen. Shortly thereafter, at 07:00 local time, Israeli authorities reported a new wave of missile attacks launched from Iran towards central and southern occupied regions, triggering air raid sirens across various areas.
