Israeli Defence Minister Boasts of Killing Iranian Leaders
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has boasted that Israeli forces will pursue and kill Iranian leaders. He also stated that Israeli forces will target Iran’s strategic assets if missile attacks against Israel continue.
“While missile attacks continue to target Israeli civilians, Iran will pay a heavy price that will damage and ultimately cripple its national infrastructure and the regime’s operational capacity,” Katz said in a video statement, as reported by AFP on Sunday (5/4/2026).
“At the same time, we will continue to pursue and neutralise terrorist leadership, and strike security targets and strategic assets throughout Iran,” he added.
In recent days, Israel, along with the United States (US), has attacked Iranian steel and petrochemical facilities, accusing that revenues from these sectors are used by the country’s Revolutionary Guard to fund weapons production.
Meanwhile, Iran has repeatedly threatened civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries because US-Israeli attacks on Iran have also hit targets vital to the Islamic republic’s economy.
On Saturday, an attack on a petrochemical centre in southwestern Iran killed five people, according to the deputy governor of Khuzestan province.
