Israeli Attacks in Lebanon Kill 687, Including 98 Children, Since 2 March
Beirut (ANTARA) — Lebanon’s Health Ministry stated on Thursday, 12 March, that 687 people have been killed, including 98 children, in Israeli attacks in the country since 2 March.
In a statement, the ministry said that the casualties also included 62 women and 18 paramedics, adding that the total number of injured had reached 1,774.
Among those injured were 304 children, 328 women, and 45 paramedics, according to the statement.
On 2 March, Lebanese Hezbollah began attacking Israeli military sites in response to repeated Israeli strikes against Lebanon and the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a combined US-Israeli operation.
Israel responded by launching a military campaign in Lebanon, conducting airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut and areas in the south and east of the country.
Subsequently, on 3 March, Israeli forces commenced limited ground operations in southern Lebanon.
