Israeli Attacks in Lebanon Death Toll Rises to 886
The death toll from Israeli military operations against Lebanon, which reportedly target Hezbollah, continues to rise. Fatalities have now reached 886 people.
According to the AFP news agency on Monday (16 March 2026), Lebanon’s health ministry stated that Israeli attacks have killed 886 people in the country since fighting erupted between Israel and Hezbollah on 2 March. The death toll has increased from the previously reported 850 people.
The ministry’s latest statement indicates that casualties include 67 women and 111 children. A total of 38 healthcare workers and 2,141 other people have been injured.
In the intense fighting that has continued over recent weeks, Israel and Hezbollah have launched cross-border attacks. Hezbollah has targeted Israeli military sites with rockets, which Tel Aviv has countered with bombardments of areas serving as Hezbollah strongholds.
In its military operations in Lebanon, Israel has conducted air strikes against the southern suburbs of Beirut and areas in southern and eastern Lebanon.
Since 3 March, Tel Aviv has launched limited ground operations in southern Lebanon.
