Israeli Army Executes Palestinian Family at Midnight in West Bank
A Palestinian man, his wife, and two of their children were killed shortly after midnight on Sunday, 15 March 2026, by Israeli occupation forces in the city of Tammun, south of Tubas, in the West Bank. Two of their other children were injured by shrapnel.
The WAFA news agency reported that Israeli special forces infiltrated the city, followed by military reinforcements arriving from the Ein Shibli and Tayasir checkpoints. Forces opened fire on a vehicle, killing Ali Khaled Bani Odeh (37), his wife Waad Othman Bani Odeh (35), and two of their children, Mohammed (5) and Othman (7). Two other children, Mustafa (8) and Khaled (11), sustained minor injuries from shrapnel to the head and face.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that Israeli forces prevented its crew from reaching the injured inside the vehicle and forced them to leave the area before later allowing them to retrieve four bodies – a man, a woman, and two children – along with the two injured children.
In a separate incident, Israeli forces arrested Mahmoud Hassan Bani Odeh and his son Hassan (19) after raiding their home in Tammun. They also detained Yaman Hossam Bani Odeh (15).
Palestinian security and medical sources told WAFA that a 36-year-old man from the city of Beit Ula, northwest of Hebron, was also shot with live ammunition in the leg by Israeli forces near the Israeli segregation barrier built on Palestinian land in Tarqumiya. The injured man was transferred to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society hospital in Hebron, where his condition was described as moderate.
In Nablus, a Palestinian youth was killed on Saturday night and two others were injured by live ammunition, whilst another was beaten, during an attack by settlers in the city of Qusra. Medical sources announced the death of Amir Moatasem Mahmoud Odeh (25), after he was shot in the chest with live ammunition. Two others were wounded by live ammunition to the knee and thigh, whilst the father of the killed man was attacked and beaten during the assault.
Qusra Mayor Hani Odeh told WAFA that armed settlers attacked the Al-Karak area west of the city and opened fire on homes and young people, injuring four residents with live ammunition and beatings. The injured were initially transferred to a local medical centre for treatment. Odeh added that Amir Odeh and another injured person were later transferred to Rafidia Government Hospital in Nablus, where doctors attempted resuscitation, but he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Between 7 October 2023 and 7 March 2026, more than 1,060 Palestinians, including at least 231 children, have been killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, by Israeli forces or settlers. This demonstrates a significant escalation in violence in the region alongside the genocide in Gaza.
