Israeli Army Destroys UNIFIL Headquarters CCTV After Attack Targeting Three Indonesian Soldiers
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEIRUT — Israeli occupying forces have destroyed all surveillance cameras or CCTV facing Minghy Street in the area of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in Naqoura, southern Lebanon.
UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Ardiel has demanded legal accountability from Zionist Israel for the destruction of the security surveillance cameras for the international peacekeeping forces.
“We have conveyed our serious concerns about this to the IDF (Israeli occupying forces) and have officially protested their actions,” Ardiel said in an official UNIFIL statement quoted on Sunday (5/4/2026). Ardiel stated that the destruction of the CCTV in the UNIFIL headquarters area took place since Friday (3/4/2026).
“Since yesterday, Israeli soldiers have destroyed all cameras facing Minghy Street at the UNIFIL Naqoura headquarters,” Ardiel said.
The UNIFIL Naqoura headquarters is one of the main security posts for UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon. The headquarters was again subjected to an attack by Zionist Israeli forces the previous day.
Three soldiers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) who are part of UNIFIL were also injured in the attack. Ardiel said that the destruction of the surveillance cameras facing the UNIFIL headquarters has suspicious motives.
