Israeli Arms Manufacturers Proudly Showcase Successful Real-World Product Trials, All Tested in Gaza
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEL AVIV – Over the past week, hundreds of people gathered to attend the Israel Defense Technology Exhibition, the largest of its kind in Israel since the start of the Gaza genocide war in 2026.
“I cannot find a more appropriate expression than ‘festival of blood’ to describe the exhibition that I helped thwart.”
With this introduction, writer Saber Sluzker Omran began his article published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, quoted by Aljazeera, Thursday (26/2/2026).
The author found an advertisement for the exhibition on an economic news site, which announced, among other things, that the exhibition would feature technologies that had been tested in battles that shaped the latest conflict.
Out of context
Omran, a lawyer and human rights activist, described the wording of the declaration as a misleading formulation that referred to battles as a professional achievement out of context.
He added that what is meant by technologies “tested in the field” and “innovations under fire” simply means that these systems have been tested in very real situations where hundreds of people were killed in one day, and the number increased to tens of thousands in two years.
He added that the advertisement presented the sentences as a marketing advantage, as if they were selling “Korean firming cream” or a “microwave oven” that heats food in half the time of other models.
