Israeli fighter jets launched fresh air strikes on Sunday targeting the towns of Deir Seryan and Taybeh in southern Lebanon, in a new violation of the ongoing ceasefire. The state-run Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli forces also detonated explosives and set fire to homes in the town of Khiam, whilst a drone was observed flying over Beirut’s southern suburbs. No casualties were immediately reported in the Zionist attacks. The escalation comes just two days after Beirut and Tel Aviv signed a US-mediated framework agreement. The deal stipulates a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Lebanese territory, beginning with two unnamed pilot areas. Since 2 March, Israel has conducted military operations in Lebanon that have killed at least 4,246 people, wounded 12,190 others, and displaced over one million, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
