Israel Strikes Lebanon Again, 11 Killed Including Two Children
Israeli strikes once again hit a town in southern Lebanon in the early hours of Monday (7/9). At least 11 people, including two children and two paramedics, were killed in the attacks.
Israel has stepped up its bombardment of southern Lebanon in recent days, despite a ceasefire agreement reached in June that was intended to halt the fighting between the Israeli military and the Hezbollah group.
Israeli forces also struck Lebanon on Sunday (6/9), in attacks reported to have killed at least seven people.
According to a report by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), carried by Reuters on Monday (7/9/2026), several Israeli fighter jets struck a residential building in the town of Kfar Rumman in southern Lebanon shortly after midnight.
The NNA said at least nine people, including two children, were killed in the air strike. Five others were wounded in the same attack.
A separate drone strike hit a civilian vehicle in the same town, and according to the NNA, killed two paramedics who were inside the vehicle.
The strikes on the southern Lebanese town were launched without any online evacuation warnings from the Israeli military.
So far, the Israeli military has not responded directly to reports of the deadly attacks in southern Lebanon. It is not clearly known whether Tel Aviv was aware of the presence of children and paramedics at the sites of the strikes.
An Israeli military spokesman issued a separate evacuation warning shortly after 02:00 on Monday (7/9) for areas around a building in another town in southern Lebanon. In its warning, Tel Aviv said it would strike Hezbollah facilities.
The series of Israeli attacks on Lebanon has killed more than 4,300 people since Hezbollah launched rocket attacks towards Israel on 2 March in a show of solidarity with Iran, which is at war with the United States and Tel Aviv.
Israel responded to the Hezbollah attacks with air strikes and ground assaults on Lebanon.
The ceasefire agreed in June led to a drastic reduction in the level of violence in Lebanon. However, Israeli forces occupying part of southern Lebanon have continued to destroy villages within a security zone they established themselves.
The Israeli military has continued to launch attacks both inside that security zone and in areas to its north. Most of the Israeli strikes have been carried out without accompanying evacuation warnings.
