Israel Seizes Four Buildings at Al-Aqsa, KPIPA Calls for Muslim Solidarity
The takeover of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli authorities is assessed to be increasingly massive and systematic. Through various policies targeting infrastructure, facilities, and management authority, Israel is accused of executing a grand agenda of ‘Judaization of Al-Quds’ that has been designed since 1948.
Chair of the Indonesian Women’s Coalition for Al-Aqsa (KPIPA), Nurjanah Hulwani, stressed that the escalation in Gaza, the West Bank, and the treatment of Palestinian prisoners are inseparable parts of an effort to alter the identity of the Holy City of Al-Quds. ‘The destruction of Islamic identity in Al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the core of the Judaization programme. What is happening in Palestine today cannot be viewed as isolated events,’ Nurjanah stated on Friday (12/6/2026).
Based on studies by several institutions specialising in Al-Quds issues, Nurjanah explained that Israel’s strategy relies on three main pillars to strengthen control over the holy site. One indicator of this tightening control was the closure of access for worship during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr 2026 under the pretext of a regional emergency. However, following the reopening, new measures emerged involving the emptying and seizure of several administrative buildings belonging to the Islamic Waqf, which operates under the auspices of the Kingdom of Jordan.
Nurjanah assessed that the selection of four buildings at the corners of the complex is a tactical move by Israeli police to de facto replace the management role of the Islamic Waqf. ‘They dismantled the locks, prohibited the installation of new locks, and expelled anyone approaching on security grounds,’ she added.
In her closing statement, Nurjanah reminded that safeguarding the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a collective responsibility of the global Muslim community, as enshrined in Surah Al-Isra verse 1. She commended the resilience of Al-Quds residents who continue to perform prayers at the mosque gates despite access being blocked. ‘Support can be manifested through advocacy, education, and diplomatic pressure. Al-Aqsa must not be forgotten, because the world’s silence will only embolden Israel to complete their Judaization agenda,’ she concluded.
