Israel Said to Begin Gradual Troop Withdrawal from Southern Lebanon
Lebanese security sources and eyewitnesses on Thursday reported that the Israeli army has begun a gradual withdrawal from the town of Dibbine in the eastern part of southern Lebanon. The sources told Xinhua that several Merkava tanks and armoured personnel carriers were observed moving from the eastern outskirts of Dibbine towards the neighbouring town of Khiam, while a number of drones continued to fly overhead. Israeli forces had entered Dibbine approximately one week ago, and during their presence there, the troops reportedly carried out demolition and eviction operations using bulldozers that destroyed dozens of civilian homes, according to multiple sources. No official statement has been issued by the Israeli military regarding the reported troop withdrawal.
