Israel Prepares Plans for Three Further Weeks of War with Iran
The Israeli military has stated that they possess detailed plans for at least three additional weeks of war with Iran. The US-Israel war is now entering its third week with no clear conclusion in sight. The conflict has resulted in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime passage vital to approximately 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas traffic, causing oil prices to rise and raising concerns about impending global inflation spikes.
On Sunday, 15 March, US President Donald Trump called for a coalition of nations to help reopen the vital shipping lane. Trump warned that NATO faced a “very grim” future if its members did not assist Washington in reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Al Arabiya media, on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, during a briefing on Monday, 16 March, Israeli military spokesman Nadav Shoshani told reporters that detailed operational plans for a war with Iran had been prepared for the coming three weeks, along with additional plans extending further ahead.
The Israeli military has defined its objectives narrowly as weakening Iran’s capability to threaten Israel by striking ballistic missile infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and security apparatus.
“We want to ensure that this regime is as weak as possible, and that we weaken all their capabilities, all components and all branches of their security institutions,” Shoshani stated.
The Israeli military, which has mobilised more than 110,000 reserve forces, said it still has thousands of targets to strike within Iranian territory.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday, 16 March, that Tehran had not requested a ceasefire or exchanged messages with the United States, according to Iran’s semi-official Student News Network.
