Israel Launches Series of Strikes on Southern Lebanon

Israeli air force jets launched a series of strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon on Saturday evening, a source in the Lebanese military told RIA Novosti.

“Last night, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of devastating strikes using heavy precision-guided missiles on several areas in southern Lebanon,” the source said.

A total of 14 strikes were launched in stages targeting mountainous areas and near residential zones, the source said.

Lebanon’s national news agency NNA reported several new Israeli strikes on the country.

The Israeli military released a statement on their Arabic-language digital platform saying that Hezbollah’s military infrastructure facilities in southern Lebanon had been targeted.

In late August 2025, the Lebanese government tasked the military with monopolizing arms by the end of 2025. As part of that decision, the military began expanded troop deployments in the south, dismantling Hezbollah weapons depots and tunnels in accordance with the ceasefire agreement with Israel reached on November 27, 2024.

Nevertheless, Israel continues to strike Lebanese territory and has threatened to launch a massive offensive if Lebanon fails to comply with its commitments.
