Israel-Iran Conflict Impact: Multiple Flights from Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport to Middle Eastern Nations Cancelled
The escalating conflict or attacks between Iran and Israel has impacted several flight schedules from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to nations in the Middle Eastern region. Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Communication and Legal Division Head of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, confirmed on Sunday morning (1 March 2026) that various flight impacts have occurred from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport to several Middle Eastern countries.
“Based on reports we have received from several airlines, as of Saturday evening until 21:30 WITA, flight cancellations and schedule changes to several Middle Eastern countries have occurred. This is a consequence of the uncertain political situation in several countries in that region. The cancellations and schedule changes are implemented to avoid and anticipate the worst-case risks,” he stated.
According to Eka Sandi, the cancelled and delayed flights include both direct and transit flights destined for the Middle East. This action results from airspace closures in several countries for the safety and comfort of passengers and airlines. Several countries through which airspace passes have chosen to close their airspace to mitigate the risks.
“As a result, several flight routes at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport have experienced flight delays and schedule adjustments,” he said.
Nevertheless, flight operations and airport services at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport generally continue to operate normally. As of Saturday (28 February) at 21:00 WITA, several flights have undergone schedule adjustments, including: Etihad EY477 route Denpasar (DPS) to Abu Dhabi (AUH) has been rescheduled; Emirates EK369 route Denpasar (DPS) to Dubai (DXB) cancelled; Emirates EK399 route Denpasar (DPS) to Dubai (DXB) cancelled; Qatar Airways QR963 route Denpasar (DPS) to Doha (DOH) cancelled.
Management of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), which operates Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, is coordinating with several agencies, particularly with airlines to continuously update flight schedules and manage prospective passengers at the airport, with AirNav Indonesia to monitor affected airspace, and with security authorities to anticipate security situations at the airport.
“We urge prospective air passengers to maintain communication with airlines for updated flight schedule information. We also provide help desk services located on the 2nd Floor of the International Departure Terminal, as well as contact centre services accessible via telephone at 172 for updated information,” he stated. To date, there has been no passenger congestion at the international departure terminal as passengers have been managed appropriately.
