Israel Intensifies Attacks on Gaza Ahead of International Stabilisation Force Deployment

The cities of Khan Younis, Rafah, and Gaza City became the targets of increasingly intense Israeli military operations on Tuesday (30/6/2026). The occupying forces intensified artillery shelling, the destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure, and the targeting of residential neighbourhoods, resulting in the displacement of dozens of families.

The Israeli military operations are taking place ahead of the launch of a pilot project by the Board of Peace, an initiative recently introduced by US President Donald J. Trump.

A WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli occupying forces launched four large-scale demolition operations targeting homes and civilian infrastructure in the eastern and northeastern areas of Khan Younis on Tuesday morning.

Artillery shelling also struck the northwestern areas of Rafah, while Israeli military vehicles opened fire on the eastern areas of Khan Younis.

In Gaza City, Israeli forces also detonated a booby-trapped robot rigged with a large quantity of explosives, targeting homes in the Tuffah neighbourhood in the northeast of the city.

This coincided with intense fire from military vehicles and sporadic explosions in the Shuja’iyya and Tuffah neighbourhoods.

The shelling extended to the eastern areas of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, also targeting the Atatra area northwest of Gaza City.

Medical sources reported that eight Palestinians, including two children, were killed and several others injured on Monday.

According to health sources, the total death toll since the ceasefire violation occurred in October 2025 has risen to 1,045, with 3,380 others injured.

The sources added that the overall casualty count from the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023 has reached 73,058 killed and 173,488 injured.
