Israel Has Killed 9,000 Lebanese Citizens
Israeli occupation forces launched a series of air strikes, artillery attacks and fresh explosions across southern Lebanon in the early hours of Sunday, continuing repeated assaults despite the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
According to Lebanese media reports, Israeli fighter jets struck the Ali al-Taher highlands and surrounding areas, while further air strikes targeted areas near the al-Dabsha highlands towards Doha Kafr Rumman.
Simultaneously, Israeli artillery targeted areas around Ali al-Taher and al-Dabsha, while additional artillery fire hit the town of al-Mansouri. Israeli occupation forces also carried out two explosions in the towns of Hadatha and Taybeh in southern Lebanon.
The latest attacks follow a series of Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon in recent days, including air raids, artillery fire and demolition operations.
Israel has continued to conduct military operations throughout southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire agreement, repeatedly targeting villages, towns and surrounding hills.
The attacks have included air strikes by fighter jets and drones, artillery fire, the demolition and levelling of homes and infrastructure using bulldozers, and the burning of agricultural land.
The Ali al-Taher highlands have become a heavily contested area in recent days, with Israeli strikes repeatedly targeting the strategic position and nearby settlements.
The continuing attacks come amid ongoing negotiations between Lebanon and Israel over security arrangements and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health has released updated figures on casualties resulting from Israeli attacks against the country.
According to the ministry, 4,348 people were killed and 12,307 wounded between 2 March and 21 August 2026, during the latest expansion of Israeli military operations against Lebanon.
The ministry stated that the cumulative casualty toll since 8 October 2023 now stands at 8,915 dead and 30,543 wounded.
