Israel Continues Bombardment of Lebanon and Gaza, Iran Suspends Peace Talks with US

Tasnim reported on Monday (1 June 2026) that Iran has decided to temporarily halt all peace talks with the United States (US) in protest against the Zionist regime of Israel’s ongoing bombardment of Lebanon and Gaza. According to Mehr News, Iran’s decision aligns with previously agreed ceasefire prerequisites, prompting the negotiation team to temporarily suspend “dialogue and text exchanges via mediators.” Iranian officials and negotiators stressed that an immediate cessation of aggression and brutal operations by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon, along with the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Lebanese territories, are their demands, and they will not proceed with further talks until Iran and the Resistance Alliance agree on a response to these demands. Additionally, the Resistance Front and Iran have fully blocked the Strait of Hormuz and activated other fronts, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, to punish the Zionists and their supporters.
