Israel Claims to Have Killed Ali Larijani, Yet Iran's Security Chief Posts on X

TEHRAN — Israeli Defence Minister Katz has claimed that Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, has been killed. If confirmed, this would make him the second highest-ranking Iranian official to be eliminated after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“The leaders of the regime are being killed and their capabilities are being destroyed,” said Katz.

However, almost simultaneously with the claim, Larijani posted a note on his X account.

The post was related to commemorating Iranian naval personnel who were killed in a recent U.S. attack.

“On the occasion of the funeral ceremony of the valiant members of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy: Their memory will forever remain in the hearts of the Iranian people, and this martyrdom will strengthen the foundation of the Islamic Republic’s forces within the military structure for years to come. I beseech Almighty God to grant these beloved martyrs the highest status.”
