The Israeli military launched an airstrike on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Sunday (14/6/2026). The attack occurred whilst a ceasefire between the two parties is still in effect. According to an Anadolu correspondent, Israeli warplanes bombed the Dahiyeh district without prior warning. Two explosions were heard in the area, as plumes of smoke were seen rising from the targeted location. In a statement, the Israeli military claimed the attack targeted a site linked to Hezbollah in the area. The strike took place just hours after the head of Israel’s Security Authority, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the head of the Finance Authority, Bezalel Smotrich, called for airstrikes against Dahiyeh.
