Israel Bombs Gaza City, Seven Killed and Dozens Injured

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GAZA – Israeli airstrikes killed and injured dozens of Palestinians in Gaza City on Friday night after a series of attacks hit residential areas and civilian zones in the Al-Rimal district. Israeli officials later claimed the strikes targeted a senior commander of the Al-Qassam Brigade, Izz al-Din al-Haddad.

The attacks occurred amidst ongoing Israeli bombing in various areas of Gaza, even as talks regarding a possible ceasefire continue.

Journalist Muhammad Rabah in Gaza, citing local sources, said that Israeli fighter jets bombed a building at the intersection of Abu al-Kas in the Al-Rimal district, part of Gaza City. The attack caused massive destruction and resulted in many casualties.

According to local reports, at least seven Palestinians were killed and around 45 others were injured. Medical sources and emergency teams cited by Al Jazeera later reported that the death toll included three women and one child. Meanwhile, more than 50 others were injured, some in critical condition.

Video footage showed thick plumes of smoke rising above the area, as rescue teams and residents worked to evacuate victims from under the rubble of the building.

Ambulance and civil defense teams reportedly faced significant difficulties in reaching the location due to the severe damage and chaos following the attacks.

Hospitals in the area, which have been under immense pressure for months due to the war and siege, struggled to cope with the influx of victims.
