Isolated villages in Central Aceh now accessible by two-wheeled vehicles
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Aceh Regency reported that several villages, which had been isolated after a temporary bridge collapsed due to flash floods three days ago, can now be accessed by two-wheeled vehicles. “It can now be passed by two-wheeled vehicles; there is a suspension bridge there,” said the Head of BPBD Central Aceh, Andalika, when contacted from Banda Aceh on Friday. Previously, heavy rain on Tuesday (31/3) in Central Aceh once again caused flash floods, leading to the collapse of several temporary bridges built by the TNI and three road accesses being cut off due to landslides. The temporary bridges that broke, isolating ten villages, were the Kala Ili bridge in Linge Subdistrict, and the Burlah and Bergang bridges in Ketol Subdistrict. Meanwhile, the road that was paralysed is in the Bintang - Simpang Kraft area. Andalika stated that access to the isolated villages can now be reached using two-wheeled vehicles by passing through the suspension bridge in the Burlah area and Kala Ilee. “There is a suspension bridge in Burlah and the Kala Ili suspension bridge. For the Bergang bridge, it can still be passed by two-wheeled vehicles,” he said. He added that the reconstruction of those bridges is still in process, and it is planned to build Bailey bridges. Meanwhile, the provincial road in the Bintang - Simpang Kraft area leading to Gayo Lues Regency can also now be passed. “The provincial status road (Bintang - Sp Kraft) which meets the national road Takengon-Gayo Lues can now be passed,” he said. So far, he said, the people on the other side of the broken bridge have been able to meet their daily needs because it can now be passed by two-wheeled vehicles.
