ISO 9002 for shipping firm

JAKARTA (JP): PT Pelayaran Samudera Selatan (PSS), a shipping agency for Pacific International Lines and Advance Container Lines, has been awarded an ISO 9002 certificate for its quality control systems.

A statement issued by PSS yesterday said that the company, which already obtained an ISO 9000 certificate for quality management in October 1995, accepted the ISO 9002 certificate from the Bureau Veritas Quality International certificating agency.

The shipping lines served by PSS provide three weekly feeder services from Jakarta and Singapore to major ports in more than a dozen destinations worldwide.

PSS, a member of the Indonesian National Shipowners' Association, was established in 1990 as a subsidiary of the Selatan Group of companies, which deals with integrated shipping businesses including freight forwarding, trucking and container surveying. (pwn)
