Island Jewels shows new collection
Island Jewels of Indonesian has introduced a brand new collection of sterling silver and stone jewelry for the local and international markets ahead of the Idul Fitri and Christmas holidays.
While all of the jewelry is made by local artisans, the company also uses Italian technology and polishing techniques on its jewelry.
Island Jewels employs about 20 stonecutters and 15 silversmiths at its headquarters in Yogyakarta. It also helps to train prisoners in Nusa Kambangan to make jewelry as part of the prison's vocational training program.
Last week, Island Jewels participated in the Hong Kong Jewelry Fair, one of the world's largest jewelry fairs, at the invitation of the Indonesian government.
The company has secured orders from six countries and territories -- Australia, Holland, Italy, UK, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
