Islamic Organisation Leaders Arrive at the Istana Ahead of Iftar With Prabowo

President Prabowo Subianto held a gathering to strengthen ties and break fast together with ulama and leaders of Islamic organisations at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. A total of 170 ulama and habaib were invited to the Palace. Detikcom observed on Thursday, 5 March 2026, that Islamic organisation figures began arriving around 15:55 WIB. Among them were MUI chairman Anwar Iskandar, PBNU Rais Aam Miftachul Akhyar, and Muhammadiyah chairman Haedar Nasir. Meanwhile, members of the Red and White Cabinet who had attended were Minister of Food Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) and Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid. “The agenda is breaking the fast together. With Mr Nusron, yes later all leaders of Islamic mass organisations, as well as preachers, and the heads of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), which are large and have wide networks,” Anwar Iskandar said upon arrival at the Palace. The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla (JK) are also said to be present at the event. JK attended in his capacity as Chairman of the Indonesian Mosque Council. “Mr JK was invited in his capacity as Chairman of the Dewan Masjid Indonesia,” Nusron said.
