Islamic law revision and common sense

I wish to congratulate The Jakarta Post for printing an interview with Professor Siti Musdah Mulia.

In Canada many are working to get Section 293 of the Criminal Code of Canada which outlaws polygamy in our country declared constitutional so that polygamy will be banned and prosecuted.

The strain on the social purse strings, the alleged abuse within polygamous communes, the denial of human rights and quality educational opportunities in the polygamous communes of Canada is appalling.

Professor Siti Musdah Mulia and her team are courageously speaking not only for the problems of polygamy in Islam but for the parallel problems in Mormon Fundamentalist and Christian Fundamentalist sects that practice polygamy as well.
