Islamic economy the only way
Islamic economy the only way
From Media Indonesia
The recent Cabinet changes have generally received a positive
response, particularly the from markets. According to economic
observer Revrisond Baswir, the International Monetary Fund, the
World Bank and multinational companies remain the most
influential parties in the Cabinet shake-up.
The appointment of Boediono gives the impression that the
government will not change the pattern and direction of its
economic policy. Consequently, this policy will continue to heed
the IMF's message of reform, like subsidy annulment, financial
and trade liberalization as well as state enterprise
privatization.
In my view, the Cabinet reshuffle will never solve the
nation's economic problems as long as the spirit of the economic
policy remains unchanged and the whole system unaltered.
Therefore, I would suggest that both aspects should be based on
the Islamic ideology for proper solution.
