Islamic Boarding School Caretaker in Grobogan Named Suspect in Santriwati Sexual Abuse Case, Victim Plied with Alcohol

The caretaker of the Salafiyah Futuhiyah Islamic Boarding School in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, identified by the initials MZ (57), has been named a suspect in the alleged rape of a female student. The sexual violence reportedly occurred between 2023 and 2025, with the perpetrator frequently renting hotels in Semarang Regency. Head of the Semarang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Bodia Teja Lelana, stated that MZ is suspected of raping his 10-year-old student, who is now 12 years old. Bodia explained that MZ allegedly molested the student on several occasions. One of the crime scenes remembered by the victim was a hotel in Semarang Regency. ‘The perpetrator took advantage of his charge because the parents work as migrant workers abroad and trusted the caretaker to look after her. So the suspect, as a teacher, deceived his charge to gain access to the victim,’ Bodia revealed on Thursday (2/7/2026). He stated that MZ claimed to have married the victim before engaging in sexual intercourse with her. ‘The suspect claimed a unilateral legal marriage. As part of his persuasion, the suspect gave money and also plied the victim with alcohol, often before and sometimes after committing the act,’ he said.
