Islamic Boarding School Caretaker in Banjarnegara Arrested for Allegedly Abusing Four Female Students
Satreskrim Polres Banjarnegara has arrested a 52-year-old Islamic boarding school caretaker, identified by the initial N, from Karangsari Village, Pejawaran District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java. N is suspected of sexually abusing four female students at his boarding school. The suspect reportedly attempted to initiate a peace settlement, but the alleged victims refused.
The four alleged victims, all minors, are NAC (15), QDM (16), T (15), and M (16). They have been receiving support from Endah Tursilowati of the Banjarnegara Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA).
Endah explained the suspect’s modus operandi, stating that he would summon the students to his room in pairs to massage him. “The modus was that the children were called, asked to massage the ustaz in his room. Each time he called, it was two students,” Endah said in an interview on Tuesday (30/6/2026).
During the massage, the suspect would then instruct the female students to touch his genitals. “The perpetrator deceived the victims by promising them a certificate, which he called a ‘lolohan certificate’, a non-written certificate to become proficient in reciting the Quran,” Endah added.
She noted that the alleged abuse occurred over varying periods. “Some experienced it for a year, others for several months,” she said.
