Iskandar Muda Military Command Unfurls 81-Metre Indonesian Flag
The Iskandar Muda Military Command (IM) unfurged an 81-metre Indonesian flag (Merah Putih) to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the TNI in Banda Aceh.
“This activity serves as a momentum to strengthen unity, nationalism, and love for the Motherland, while simultaneously tightening the relationship between the TNI and the community,” stated the Commander of Iskandar Muda, Major General Joko Hadi Susilo, in Banda Aceh on Sunday.
While releasing participants of the Merah Putih parade—which included students, university students, competition participants, motorcycle rickshaw (becak motor) communities, and the general public—he explained that the activity could further strengthen the unity between the TNI and the people, as well as cultivate national values to be passed on to future generations.
The parade commenced at Balee Sanggamara, passing through Simpang Lima, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque area, and the Aceh Health Office, before concluding at Blang Padang Field.
The event was further enlivened by drum band performances and Military Drill (PBB) competitions for both military and high school levels across Aceh.
“The involvement of the younger generation is also part of the effort to instil values of discipline, cohesion, cooperation, and national spirit,” he said.
He added that the commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the TNI serves as a moment to reflect on the TNI’s journey of service to the nation and state, while reinforcing the spirit of unity, discipline, and patriotism.
