Iskandar Muda Military Command Holds Simultaneous Low-Cost Market Across Aceh
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Iskandar Muda Military Command (Kodam IM) is conducting a simultaneous low-cost market across the entirety of Aceh to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the TNI in 2026, aiming to assist the community in meeting their needs at affordable prices.
“This activity is a manifestation of the TNI’s care and commitment to always be present among the people, particularly in helping to meet basic needs with more affordable prices,” said the Commander of the Iskandar Muda Military Command (Pangdam IM), Major General TNI Joko Hadi Susilo, in Blang Padang, Banda Aceh, on Wednesday.
The Pangdam IM explained that the implementation of this low-cost bazaar is not only part of the series of commemorations for the 81st TNI Anniversary but also a tangible form of the TNI’s service to the community.
The Pangdam IM also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties that have supported the activity, particularly the Regional Government, business actors, commodity providers, and all ranks of the TNI.
The Pangdam IM hopes that the Simultaneous Low-Cost Bazaar can provide real benefits to the community while serving as part of the TNI’s professional and strong spirit in carrying out service alongside the people to build the nation.
The Head of the Aceh Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), T Adi Darma, stated that the market operation in conjunction with the 81st TNI Anniversary, held at Blang Padang Field, Banda Aceh, will take place for two days, from 22 to 23 September 2026.
“This market operation is an effort by the government to be directly present in easing the burden on the community and ensuring inflation remains well-controlled, particularly in areas used to measure the Consumer Price Index (CPI), such as Banda Aceh City,” he said.
During the low-cost market activity, the Aceh Government is providing subsidies for four main commodities: rice at a selling price of Rp105,000 per 10kg sack, granulated sugar at Rp32,000 per kg, cooking oil at Rp38,000 per 2-litre pack, and chicken eggs at Rp36,000 per tray of 30 eggs.
More specifically, he mentioned that the Aceh Government has prepared stocks for the low-cost market consisting of 12 tonnes of premium rice, 2.4 tonnes of granulated sugar, 2.4 tonnes of cooking oil, and 1,000 trays of chicken eggs.
“We invite the community to take advantage of this momentum to meet their needs at affordable prices and to shop according to their needs and means, so that the benefits of this market operation can be felt equally,” he said.
His department also hopes that through this low-cost market, community purchasing power will remain stable and regional inflation can be well-controlled.
