Isbat Session Results for 1 Syawal 1447 H: Eid al-Fitr 2026 on 21 March
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has conducted the Isbat session to determine the date for Eid al-Fitr 2026. The result is that Eid al-Fitr 2026 or 1 Syawal 1447 H will fall on Saturday, 21 March 2026 according to the government. “It has been agreed that 1 Syawal 1447 H falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026,” said Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar during a press conference on the results of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 Isbat session, Thursday (19/3/2026). Based on the Isbat session results, it was also agreed that the government’s first day of Eid al-Fitr 2026 falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026, and the second day on Sunday, 22 March 2026. Thus, the government’s Eid al-Fitr 2026 differs from that of Muhammadiyah. As known, Muhammadiyah through the Central Leadership’s Decree Number 2/MLM/I.0/E/2025 on the Determination of Calculations for Ramadan, Syawal, and Zulhijah 1447 Hijriah has set Eid al-Fitr 2026 on 20 March. Schedule of Collective Leave for Eid al-Fitr 2026 Based on the Joint Ministerial Decree of 3 Ministers on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 1447 H, here is the schedule for collective leave and national holidays for Eid al-Fitr 2026. - Friday, 20 March 2026: Collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah - Saturday, 21 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah - Sunday, 22 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah - Monday, 23 March 2026: Collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah - Tuesday, 24 March 2026: Collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah The following are the provisions for implementing collective leave for workers/employees as well as ASN/PNS. - The implementation of collective leave reduces the annual leave rights of employees/workers in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and the provisions in each work unit/organisational entity/institution/company. - Collective leave does not reduce the annual leave rights of Civil Servant Apparatus. Work-from-Anywhere Still Available After Eid al-Fitr Holiday 2026 After the Eid al-Fitr holiday, ASN and private employees can still work from anywhere (WFA) for three days, namely on - Wednesday, 25 March 2026 - Thursday, 26 March 2026 - Friday, 27 March 2026 However, it should be remembered that this WFA is not a holiday. Quoting from the official website of the Ministry of PANRB, the arrangement for WFA for ASN during Eid al-Fitr 2026 is not interpreted as an addition to holiday days, but as a work flexibility arrangement to maintain the continuity of government administration and public services during the period of national holidays and collective leave. Then, what about the private sector? Citing the official website of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), workers/labourers who carry out WFA still work according to their duties and obligations. WFA for Eid al-Fitr 2026 in the private sector is not counted as annual leave. “Workers/labourers who carry out WFA continue to carry out work according to their duties and obligations, and therefore the implementation of WFA is not counted as annual leave,” stated the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli.
