National Vesak Theme 2026
According to the official website of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar received an audience from the Indonesian Buddhist Community Representatives (WALUBI) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs headquarters in Jakarta. The Minister, together with WALUBI officials, discussed preparations for the Tri Suci Vesak Celebration 2570 BE/2026. The Minister advised that the Vesak celebration should serve as energy to strengthen brotherhood.
Vesak 2570 BE/2026 carries the theme ‘Dharma as the Source of Morality and Wisdom’ with the sub-theme ‘Compassion as the Source of World Peace’. This theme is expected not only to serve as a spiritual foundation but also to be reflected in social life practices that uphold humanitarian values and harmony.
The Minister stated that Vesak is a strategic momentum to strengthen national values and interfaith tolerance in Indonesia. According to him, the Dharma message carried in Vesak is relevant in building a peaceful and civilised society life.
“The theme raised this year is very strong. Dharma as the source of morality and wisdom must become the foundation in national life. From there arises compassion that becomes the basis of world peace,” he said.
