Is the Rp300,000 Social Assistance Disbursing Again? Latest News on Aid for 13.3 Million Workers
Jakarta, VIVA – News regarding the Rp300,000 assistance has returned to the spotlight for workers after the government discussed several aid programmes for the public through to the end of 2026. One of these is the Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU), which is being prepared again for millions of employees.
The plan was discussed in a limited meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
The government discussed several forms of aid to be distributed in the fourth quarter of 2026, including wage subsidies for 13.3 million workers. Here is the detailed information, as gathered on Thursday (1/10/2026).
BSU of Rp300,000 for 13.3 Million Workers
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the government will once again provide wage subsidies. The assistance will be provided in a single instalment covering a three-month period.
“The government will again provide wage subsidy assistance, where this subsidy is given once for three months, at a rate of Rp300,000 per month, and this is provided to 13.3 million workers,” Airlangga said following the limited meeting at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday.
Under this scheme, the total assistance received by workers for the three-month period will reach Rp900,000. This means the Rp300,000 figure represents the monthly amount, not the total assistance received during the period. The government estimates that the budget requirement for this programme will approach nearly Rp12 trillion.
Although the government has announced the plan to reissue the BSU, detailed information regarding the disbursement schedule and the latest distribution mechanism has not yet been provided.
Therefore, workers awaiting the Rp300,000 social assistance need to distinguish between the announcement of the programme plan and the technical disbursement information. The government has only stated that the wage subsidies will be redistributed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Rice Assistance for 33.2 Million Families
In addition to the wage subsidies, the government is also preparing food assistance for the public. This assistance consists of 10 kilograms of rice for a three-month requirement, to be provided as a single instalment starting in October 2026.
Airlangga mentioned that the food assistance will be given to 33,244,408 beneficiary families within the Decile 1 to Decile 4 categories. The budget prepared for this programme is approximately Rp17.5 trillion.
The government also discussed the opening of bank accounts for citizens aged over 17 who fall within the Decile 1 to Decile 4 categories. The recipient data is still in the process of being verified alongside relevant ministries.
