Is It True That Indonesians Are Among the Most Optimistic in the World?

The first half of 2026 has been reached. Previously, a survey revealed public optimism for the year 2026. The results showed Indonesia as the country with the most optimistic citizens. This survey is documented in the Ipsos Predictions Survey 2026 report. The survey involved 23,642 adults across 30 countries between 27 October and 4 November 2025. Based on the survey, globally there is a fairly strong sense of optimism welcoming 2026. On average, 71% of respondents from 30 countries believe that 2026 will be a better year for them compared to 2025. The survey revealed an interesting finding related to Indonesia. Indonesia ranks first as the most optimistic country with an optimism level of 90%. This figure is stable compared to predictions for 2024. Meanwhile, Colombia occupies second place.
