Irvian Bobby from Ministry of Manpower Offers Himself as Crown Witness in Noel Ebenezer Trial
Jakarta - Koordinator Bidang Kelembagaan dan Personel K3 Kemenaker for 2022-2025, Irvian Bobby Mahendro, has offered himself to be examined as a crown witness in the alleged corruption case of extortion in the processing of K3 certificates, with the defendant being former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel.
“Is it true that you are offering yourself as a crown witness?” asked the Chief Judge of the Panel, Nur Sari Baktiana, during the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (16/4/2026).
Bobby confirmed that he was offering himself as a crown witness for Noel’s case and the other defendants.
“That is correct, Your Honour, I am offering myself as a crown witness for today’s trial,” Bobby replied.
This offer has also been known to Bobby’s legal advisory team.
The offer has also been reported to the chief of the Central Jakarta District Court.
Bobby’s self-offer was initially rejected by Noel’s camp.
They assessed that suspects or defendants offering themselves as crown witnesses are parties with small or insignificant roles.
In response to the objection from Noel’s team, the prosecutor stated that Bobby’s role was not much different from the other coordinators.
Due to the debate that occurred, the panel of judges decided to postpone the examination of the crown witness until Monday (20/4/2026).
“For today’s trial, that is the panel’s stance; we accommodate all the rights of the defendants. We will reopen the trial with the agenda of examining witnesses among the defendants,” said Judge Ana.
Former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer (Noel) and his accomplices are accused of receiving Rp 6.5 billion from extorting applicants for K3 certificates and licences.
This was stated by the prosecutor in the first indictment hearing of the K3 certificate extortion corruption case at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday (19/1/2026).
