Residents of Jagaraga Village, Sawan District, Buleleng, are experiencing a water crisis due to the repair of a subak irrigation embankment in the area. The Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has stepped in to distribute clean water to meet the community’s needs. I Gede Suyasa, Chief Executive of the Buleleng BPBD, stated that the irrigation embankment construction work has impacted the water distribution pipes used by the Jagaraga Village community. “As a form of service to the community, we are distributing clean water aid to meet the basic needs of residents while the pipe repair process is ongoing,” Suyasa said. The clean water distribution was carried out by the BPBD Buleleng Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) Regu 2, targeting three administrative hamlets in Jagaraga Village: Banjar Dinas Kangin Luan, Banjar Dinas Kauh Teben, and Banjar Dinas Tengah. A total of 10,000 litres of clean water was distributed to meet the bathing, washing, and toilet (MCK) needs of the community experiencing water supply disruptions. Suyasa revealed that the Buleleng BPBD will continue to coordinate with relevant parties to monitor conditions on the ground. According to him, the BPBD Buleleng is ready to carry out further distribution if the community still requires clean water supply until the irrigation network repairs are completed. “We hope the repair process can be completed soon so that the clean water distribution to the community returns to normal. As long as it is still needed, the BPBD is ready to provide services according to the residents’ needs,” Suyasa explained.
