IRGC Warns There Will Never Be Peace in the Middle East Until Israel is Destroyed
TEHERAN – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned on Thursday (28 May 2026) that there will be no peace in the Middle East until Israel is destroyed. According to AzerNews on Friday (29 May 2026), the IRGC’s statement was in response to the killing of several Hamas officials by Israeli forces in recent days.
“Unless this evil and child-killing regime is erased from the earth, the West Asian region will not find peace,” the IRGC stated.
The IRGC also described US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, which it called “evil and a gamble,” as a scheme leading to “death, murder, and terror.”
The US recently launched what it claimed was a “defensive” strike against suspected sites threatening American troops in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, the IRGC launched missile and drone attacks on US bases in Kuwait, threatening stronger retaliatory strikes if the US continues to breach the ceasefire agreement.
In Lebanon, Israel has intensified aerial attacks and expanded ground operations deeper into southern Lebanon. Deadly escalations followed the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) issuing forced evacuation orders for residents of Tyre’s old city and all southern Lebanon, directing them north to the Zahrani River.
On Wednesday (27 May 2026), IDF Sergeant Rotem Yanai, 20, was killed and two other soldiers wounded in a Hezbollah drone attack near the Lebanon border. As reported by The Cradle, Yanai died after two drones penetrated the IDF’s defence system and struck a military zone.
Overwhelmed by Hezbollah drones, the Israeli military, according to Anadolu, is seeking additional systems and technology from the United States. Field Commander Major General Nadav Lotan is reportedly set to travel to the US in the coming days to secure weaponry to counter drone threats.
